NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop concealer (REVIEW)

Apologies for the lack of updates for a week but I have found myself somewhat overwhelmed by starting a new job as an aesthetic practitioner and by the challenges of commuting from Brighton to London every day. But all should be well and back to normal from this week, so hopefully, you will see a new post every Sunday as usual so let’s crack on with discovering more cruelty-free, vegan makeup options.

Finding a good concealer especially when one is getting older and regardless of the make, all concealers casually slide into all your fine lines within an hour of wear as if it was the normal thing to do. Concealer is another category where I don’t like to part with too much cash so I was excited to try the much-praised NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop concealer and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve been wearing this for a month, here’s what I’ve found out:

Packaging: the usual NYX plastic canister with a doe-foot applicator.

What it is: liquid concealer.

Who it is for: apart from dry skin types I can see this working on any other types.

Coverage: high.

Finish: matte.

The claim: “Discover our new hide-and-sculpt style Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Contour Concealer. Available in 24 highly pigmented hues, this lightweight liquid contour concealer won’t transfer and has three major complexion musts covered. You can use our blendable, matte formula to camouflage imperfections, brighten up your face and contour those features to perfection. This creamy multitasker also delivers full coverage with a finish that lasts for up to 24 hours.”

Ingredients: Water/Aqua/Eau, Cyclopentasiloxane, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Cyclohexasiloxane, Butylene Glycol, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Polyglyceryl-3 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Silica Dimethyl Silylate [Nano], Sodium Chloride, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Dimethicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Aluminum Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Propylene Carbonate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Ethylhexylglycerin, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Tocopherol, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-di-t-butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Phenoxyethanol. MAY CONTAIN / PEUT CONTENIR (+/-): Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).

How it worked for me: I always apply colour corrector first under my eyes for my dark circles and then go in with a little bit of the concealer. The texture of this is lovely, creamy, a little bit goes a long way, so tread carefully, it can easily look too much. Maybe the applicator pulls out a little too much product but that’s not something that bothers me really. The coverage is great, it brightens up the eye area and it holds well even in the humid heat of the London tube. It also works on smaller breakouts as well, redness on the cheeks or highlighting the cheekbones which are really handy.  Whether it lasts for 24 hours or not, I don’t know, but who wears makeup for 24 hours? I went for the shade Vanilla, which is a tad light but works over my orange colour corrector really well. All in all, this is a great buy, even on slightly older skin too, I will definitely keep buying it.

Value for money: excellent, you get 3.5 ml for £8.00, it is available in 24 shades in Boots.
