New In – The Bodyshop vegan face mists (review)

It makes me incredibly happy to see that The Bodyshop is continuously extending its vegan line. Just in time for summer, they came out with a lovely range of face mists joining the ranks of many other brands in the beauty trend. I’ve instantly found these cute little colourful spray bottles irresistible so I thought, there’s no way I’m not going to have these in my handbag this summer. A week ago I went to the Brighton store and picked up four, as you do. The only one I didn’t get is the mattifying minty one but I might give that a try later.

Face mists are the part of a modern skin care ‘wardrobe’, you can use a different one every day depending on the weather, your mood or how your skin feels at the time. They can be very handy rescue products that I never knew I needed until I tried them. There are plenty of ways to build a mist into your skincare routine including boosting the absorption of moisturizers, masks; refreshing, hydrating the skin, binding moisture to the skin, you can use them as primers before makeup, to retouch/blend your foundation, give your skin a dewy glow, help to set your makeup, control oil, soothe irritation, to tone and cool the skin.

Forget spritzing Evian, these little wonders are part of the new generation hydrating face mists that bind moisture to the skin apart from calming, refreshing it. These formulas are makeup friendly but they are excellent prep before moisturizer and makeup too.

Coco Calming Face Mist

The Coco Calming Face Mist is enriched with coconut water from Brazil, moisturizing, soothing aloe vera and bisabolol (soothing agent typically extracted from chamomile) that helps soothing dry or sensitive skin. I’ve used it during/after a workout to soothe my skin and it worked like magic. The subtle sweet coconut scent that smells like holidays gives you an uplifting sensorial experience.

It works on all skin types, but mainly on dry, sensitive.

Aqua/Water/Eau, Propanediol, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Cocos Nucifera Fruit Juice/Coconut Fruit Juice, Polysorbate 20, Allantoin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Bisabolol, Parfum/Fragrance, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Citric Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Benzoate, Coumarin, Limonene, Potassium Sorbate.

Rose Dewy Glow Face Mist

The Rose Dewy Glow Face mist is a blend of raspberry essence, cherry water from France and Community Trade British rose essence enriched with moisturizing aloe vera. It is perfect for touching up makeup on the go, on a long-haul flight when you need perking up on the way to your holiday destination or for a good boost of hydration during the day. It contains reflective particles which give your skin a dewy, ‘lit from within’ glow so it is perfect for priming before makeup. The calming rose scent is subtle, not overwhelming.

It is suitable for all skins, especially dull, lacklustre.

Aqua/Water/Eau, Propanediol, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Parfum/Fragrance, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Propylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Rose Extract, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Citric Acid, Silica, Prunus Cerasus Fruit Extract/Bitter Cherry Fruit Extract, Rubus Idaeus Fruit Extract/Raspberry Fruit Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Sorbate, Tin Oxide, CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide.

Mandarin Energising Face Mist

The Mandarin Energising Face Mist is infused with mandarin, camu camu berry extract from Brazil, maca root extract from Peru, and caffeine as an extra boost. It perks you up when feeling dull and freshens you up on hot summer days. The fresh zesty scent feels really pleasant and the formula leaves skin feeling hydrated and fresh.

This formula is suitable for all skins, especially, a dull, tired complexion.

Aqua/Water/Eau, Propanediol, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Citrus Nobilis Fruit Extract/Mandarin Orange Fruit Extract, Caffeine, Parfum/Fragrance, Limonene, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Hydrolyzed Lepidium Meyenii Root, Citric Acid, 1,2-Hexanediol, Citral, Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract, Capryloyl Glycine, Sodium Hydroxide, Linalool, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, Potassium Sorbate.

Strawberry Smoothing Face Mist

The Strawberry Smoothing Face Mist is infused with strawberry extract from Italy, guava from Brazil and it claims to give you a more refined skin texture and a smoother-looking complexion. I personally didn’t see the smoothing effect but still, the sweet fruity scented formula is refreshing and leaves the skin hydrated and it is a great primer before makeup.

It is suitable for all skin types, especially the ones with uneven skin tone.

Aqua/Water/Eau, Propanediol, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Fragaria Vesca Juice/Strawberry Juice, Saccharum Officinarum Extract/Sugarcane Extract/Extrait de canne à sucre, Parfum / Fragrance, Sodium Hydroxide, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Fruit Extract/Orange Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon Fruit Extract/Lemon Fruit Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Acer Saccharum Extract/Sugar Maple Extract, Limonene, Linalool, Citronellol, Benzyl Alcohol, Psidium Guajava Fruit Extract, Salicylic Acid.

My favourite new morning routine is cleansing with Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, a good spritz of Strawberry Smoothing Face Mist, The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid3%, (Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% if I’m not using Vitamin C), La Roche Pose Redermic C10 moisturizer (and/or SPF depending on how much time I spend outside), a good spritz of the Rose Dewy Glow Face mist and then proceed with my makeup routine.

You can find all the above at The Bodyshop website here , for £6.00 a pop, they are a total bargain.
