Makeup of the Day – Kristen Stewart Cannes red carpet inspired

As I mentioned in Sunday’s post, Kristen Stewart treated us with two weeks of beautiful and exciting makeup and fashion looks during the Cannes Film Festival. We all know she has fantastic features and beautiful face for makeup (she is the ambassador for Chanel Beauty after all) and she is everything but predictable when it comes to fashion and beauty looks but we don’t see her on red carpets enough to appreciate her creativity.

This time with every appearance, she gave us a totally different, fun look created by Beau Nelson, celebrity and editorial makeup artist for over twenty years with a prestigious client list. I highly recommend checking out his Instagram account where you can see his exceptional work and if you are a bit of a makeup geek like me I’m sure you will find it inspiring.

My favourite makeup on Kristen was when she wore was a dramatic black smokey eye with silver glitter running through it with the rest of the face toned down, lightly blushed. There was even a little 1980s punk feel to this look thanks to the hairstyle by the brilliant Bridge Brager.

Beau created this makeup look for the opening night where he used Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturizer In Light, Joues Contrast in Rose Initial, Les 4 Ombres – Eclat Enigmatique, Ombre Premiere Noir and  Le Volume De Chanel Mascara. Her hair and makeup looked cool, edgy which created a nice contrast with her jet black frilly, feminine Chanel dress.

Here is my version of the look, I just wish I had a hair stylist for this!

Pixi – Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse, The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Serum, L’occitane Aqua Rèotier Ultra Thirst-Quenching Gel, Make Up For Ever Step 1 Equalizer Shade in Mauve, e.l.f Lip Scrub and plenty of By Terry Baume De Rose.

Diorskin Forever Undercover in Shade 21 Linen, Garnier SkinActive BB Eye Roll-On, Diorskin Forever Undercover Concealer in Shade 21 Linen all buffed together with a Real Techniques sponge.

Mac eyebrow pencil in Lingering and Brunette, Mac Fluidline Brow Gelcreme (I used this one just to draw in a few hairs with a tiny artist brush).

Mac Paint Pot in Painterly as a base, Mac Mineralize Eyeshadow in Cinderfella all over the lid blended into a flick and Mac Pressed Pigment in Jet Couture pressed on top of that, Mac Mac Retrospeck Eyeshadow in the inner corner of the eyes and under the brow as a highlight, Mac Blacktrack Cream Eyeliner in the all around the waterline, e.l.f Length and Volume Mascara.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Pearl, Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette in Natural Beauty Shade 4. Bronze mixed with shade 7. Highlight all applied with a Mac 150 brush and a touch of Chanel Joues Contrast Rose Initial.

I lined with Pillow Talk from Charlotte Tilbury, then applied Estee Lauder Chrystal Baby lipstick with a touch of the no 7, Highlight shade from Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette in Natural Beauty.
